COMPANY HISTORY
Founded in 1988 by majority owner John Gaughan, son
of Coast Resorts founder Michael Gaughan and
grandson of gaming legend Jackie Gaughan, LVDC is a
privately owned corporation. Since that time, the
company has grown from a three-person operation
operating in a 300 square foot office near Fremont
Street to its market leader position as the largest
provider of pari-mutuel wagering and horse racing
simulcasts.
A key milestone of the company occurred in 1990 when
Nevada's Gaming industry conducted a test to
implement off-track pari-mutuel wagering between
Nevada licensed race books and various racetracks
throughout the country. LVDC was selected as the
systems operator to conduct the new venture.
Following a successful one year test period, LVDC
entered into a long term exclusive contract with the
Nevada Pari-Mutuel Association (NPMA) for off-track
pari-mutuel wagering, and remains the sole Nevada
licensed provider of this service.
